As the year closes out we look back on what has been one of the busiest since 2007

It was a year during which we had our biggest fundraiser to date with ” Project Pack”, a National Bag Packing event with the wonderful support of Dunnes Stores.

38 stores were involved, with 400 volunteers generating an amazing €46,000.

The good news is Dunnes Stores have allocated us the 28th November  for Project Pack 2020 and we are looking forward to having more volunteers involved and raising in excess of €80,000

We were also delighted to be a beneficiary  along with CARI and The Children’s Grief Centre of the Live95 Helping Limerick Children Fundraising initiative and are hoping that we will have hit the €95,000 target by the end of the year.

But what continues to move us and inspire us is the generosity of the public in supporting us throughout the year.

We have had had runners, cyclists, walkers, hikers and swimmers. We had wonderful people organising events that have generated substantial funds and we have had very generous corporate & individual donors who were very taken with what we do and wanted to make a difference.

Very special also is the feedback and support from families that we have been able to support.

All of this support and profile has helped us hit new heights this year and by Christmas Eve we will have provided assistance  in 2019 to 147 families across the country, bringing our total to 734 since 2007.

You can get a glimpse of what has been happening in and for Cliona’s over the past 6 months by reading our Christmas newsletter here

We know our support makes a difference but it is only scratching the surface of what is a huge financial strain for families all over Ireland

The challenge for Cliona’s in 2020 will be to increase further the awareness of the “hidden costs” of caring for a child with a life limiting illness and to generate sufficient funds to enable us to continue to help the increasing number of families who apply for funds.

We want parents to ” Be by their Bedside”  and not have to worry about the costs

We would like to thank you for your continued support throughout 2019 and wish you and your family all the very best for the festive season.

“YOU HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE”
