Welcome to our “At Home with Cliona’s” interview series with Virgin Media presenter  Muireann O’Connell

Over the next couple of months Muireann will be chatting with some very special guests from their homes to explore and get a unique and very personal insight into what  home means to them  and what they love to do when they are  ‘at home’.

It was fantastic to have Limerick native and  award winning Irish Fashion, Travel & Lifestyle blogger & influencer  Louise Cooney chat with Muireann from her home in Dublin a few weeks ago just  before she launched her activewear fashion brand for women CLOO Active 

In a very natural and honest interview Louise gives us an insight into her life at home, how she is an early morning person,what she learnt about home from her time in New York, and shares with us a few of her favourites – space in her home, time of year, board game,  food  and much more.

Our  3rd interview with sporting legend Jerry Flannery

We are delighted and privileged to have  Limerick, Munster & Ireland sporting  Legend Jerry Flannery chatting with Muireann from his home in the UK where he is currently the line out coach with Harlequins

Jerry Flannery played for Ireland 41 times before his retirement due to injury in 2012, having also helped Munster to Heineken Cup titles in 2006 and 2008 after a spell with Connacht. The former hooker moved into a strength and conditioning role with football club Arsenal in the 2013/14 season before returning to the Munster set-up as scrum coach in 2014. Jerry  was promoted to the forwards coach role in Munster in 2017 where he remained until 2019.

He accepted the offer of lineout coach with Harlequins in June 2020, making the move with his young family in the middle of the pandemic

Jerry has been a long time supporter of Cliona’s and we are very grateful for him taking the time out to share an insight into his personal life with us.

Our  2nd interview with the wonderful  singer Tommy Fleming

A Sligo Man Tommy began his career after a chance meeting with composer Phil Coulter in Westport, County Mayo, that changed his career. Within a few short months of this meeting, he appeared at the Cork Opera House, and the National Concert Hall in Dublin. He then went on a tour of the United States, which included appearances at Carnegie Hall and the Boston Symphony Hall.

He then joined the group De Dannan, and his voice was brought to Australia, China, Hong Kong, and, once again, the United States. His greatest  success has come as an internationally renowned soloist and he has produced 14 Albums

Tommy’s unique talent has brought him worldwide recognition with several sell-out tours in Ireland, the UK, the US, Australia and Japan and he is now critically acclaimed to be one of the worlds’ finest singers of his generation.

In his interview with Muireann he recalls life growing up in his own house growing also in his own home in Donegal . The Turn of phrases that he learnt from his father makes for a very entertaining interview.
