Miriam O’ Callaghan attended Cliona’s Foundation’s 3rd annual Cork Corporate Lunch sponsored by Dornan Group, and featuring an audience with Alan Shortt took place on Friday 18th October at The Clayton Hotel, Lapps Quay, Cork.
Yet again, the generous and hardworking sisters Audrey Mc Sweeney and Mary O Dwyer organised an incredible day raising huge funds and awareness with incredible support from the Cork business community. This is the 3rd year of this wonderful event and while final figures are not yet confirmed the proceeds looks like bringing the total amount raised over the past 3 years to €100,000
The tone for the afternoon was set by the very talented Frankly MY Dear who welcomed guests with her amazing vocals and choice of some classic anthems
The renowned broadcaster and long term patron of Cliona’s Miriam O’Callaghan made the journey to Cork, entertained the guests and MC’d what was a superb afternoon. She was joined by the hugely entertaining & energetic Alan Shortt who had every one on their feet & in stitches with his fact or fiction game, and also his superb interview with Miriam O Callaghan during which she was reminded of her very 1st appearance on TV.
Following on from a very raw but inspiring video giving an insight into the life one of the families Cliona’s has supported. our inspirational CEO Brendan Ring shared the very stark reality of caring for a seriously sick child with those in attendance who in turn blew us away with their very generous donations and support of the raffle & auction .
We are extremely grateful to everyone that made this event such a success and more importantly made a real difference to many families on a very difficult journey with their sick child
