We received this update from a good friend of Martin Hennessey – Martin is currently in the Gobi Desert and unable to send updates himself.
People of Facebook, a good friend Martin Hennessy (Twasagoodidea Atthetime) has taken on an epic challenge which saw him cycle from Kilfinane, Limerick to Tblisi, Georgia over 6 weeks and now he is 4 stages into a 250km race over 5 days in the Gobi Desert: http://www.4deserts.com/gobimarch/.
Don’t forget to leave him a message with some words of encouragment!!
At the end of stage 3 Martin was in 40th place (out of 157 competitors) the results for stage 4 are not in yet but Martin is quoted on the website on the ‘breaking news’ part of the website “That’s the easiest stage I’ve ever done, downhill all the way and the wind with you” Tomorrow is the longest stage of the event – 70KM.
He has done this self-funded and for charity. With 3 days left he has raised almost €2,500 of a €3,000 target so please dig deep for a great charity in Cliona’s Foundation.
You can donate via Martin’s charity page below or to donate €2 text CLIONA to 50300
