Renowned author Donal Ryan from Nenagh, County Tipperary, is a professor of creative writing at the University of Limerick He was a civil servant for many years, and was only able to devote himself to writing from 2014, following the success of The Spinning Heart, the novel he wrote during the evenings of the summer of 2010. Ryan received 47 rejections before finding a publisher. His novels have gathered a great deal of critical acclaim and The Spinning Heart was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
Caroline Currid is one of Ireland’s leading Performance Psychologists who has over 16 years experience working with corporate and sports clients in Ireland and abroad. Her record as a Performance Psychologist has made her one of the most sought-after figures in the field of elite performance . She has worked as a performance coach with the Limerick senior hurling team since 2016 and has been credited with her unbelievable success
Joanne O’ Riordan from Millstreet in Co. Cork is an activist and sports journalist who contributes to the Irish Times and other publications on women in sport; disability and sport; racial issues in sport; and, of course, her beloved FC Barcelona. She is one of seven currently living people born with the condition Tetra-amelia syndrome. A prominent campaigner for disability rights, she has received numerous awards & has spoken in many countries to many companies and prominent figures around the world including the United Nations. She is a graduate of Criminology in UCC under a Quercus Active Citizen scholarship
