Humanli Challenges Limerick’s Business Community to go #ToTheMoon

Zero Emission Virtual Challenge Launched in Aid of Charities

Cliona’s  are delighted to be part of the Humanli family of Charities onboard the #tothemoon mission to raise needed funds for the work we do.

Businesses and organisations across Limerick are being encouraged to take part in #ToTheMoon, a fun interactive virtual challenge that promotes wellness and connectedness while raising funds for seven charities and social enterprises including  Cliona’s

Organised by social impact firm Humanli, teams of 6 are invited to join the challenge where collectively they will conquer the distance to the moon (384,000kms) during the winter of 2021/2022 through zero-emission activities such as walking, running, cycling, rowing or swimming.

The challenge has been designed to be a win-win for all participants. As well as raising much needed funds for the Humanli Family of charities, this mission enables companies to give back to their community, create more connectedness amongst staff after the pandemic and promote fitness and wellness over the winter months.

Karl Daly, Founder of Humanli, explains, “As participants commit to taking on their slice of the challenge they will be fundraising and supporting amazing charities while keeping fit and reclaiming workplace and social connections with fellow teammates. By encouraging teams to get involved, organisations are contributing to a culture of wellness and improved employee engagement. And we’re doing all of this without adding to the carbon footprint.”

“It goes without saying the last 18 months have been extraordinarily difficult for everyone. As we head into the dark winter months, we hope that his challenge will give people the motivation to keep fit, get outdoors and form stronger connections with their teammates, the communities in need in our society and our environment.”

Companies can choose to nominate Cliona’s as their specific charity  or to support the Humanli Family of charities and communities which include Blue Box Creative Arts Therapy, Cliona’s Foundation, CareBright Community, Clare’s Wish Foundation, Corpus Christi Primary School, Limerick Suicide Watch and Lime Tree Theatre.

Ready for “Lift Off”
Several firms have already signed up for the challenge and are encouraging others to join them including; Action Point, EY, Ingenium, HOMS Assist, John Battles & Company Solicitors, Moore, Sellors and Tracworx.

Maria Gleeson, HOMS Assist, said “HOMS Assist is delighted to come together with Humanli community to take on the challenge of reaching to the moon and back again! It is a wonderful opportunity to bring our team together with shared purpose for a good cause and also for a little healthy competition!”

Dr James Ring, CEO of Ingenium, said “Ingenium has supported this event from the start and we will continue to do so due to its impact, its work in raising awareness but also because of the fun associated with the event.”

The challenge takes-off in November and ends in January. When registering, teams have the option to sign-up for the landing party at the annual #MusicforMentalHealth event taking place in Dolans on 14 January 2022. Also organised by Humanli, the first #MusicforMentalHealth took place in January 2018. It’s a social impact event linking artists, businesses and good causes to generate awareness for mental health in Ireland.

At the end of the #tothemoon challenge, Humanli will develop a social impact report measuring the collective contribution and impact the challenge and its participants had in the community.
