After the huge success of the first Faces of Limerick exhibition at the Hunt Museum in 2014, photographer Cormac Byrne returns with Faces of Limerick: Chapter 2, a brand-new collection featuring striking portraits of the people who make Limerick special.

This new exhibition features 75 portraits of local people all bonded by a shared Limerick connection. From well-known personalities to unsung local heroes, each image captures the pride, resilience, and spirit that define Limerick’s character.

“This project has always been about more than photography,” says Cormac. “It’s about honouring the people who make Limerick what it is, resilient, creative, and full of heart.”

Faces of Limerick: Chapter 2 will be officially unveiled on Tuesday, 18th November at 7.30pm in the Woodlands House Hotel & Spa, Adare. The exhibition invites everyone to come together and celebrate the faces and stories that capture the true spirit of Limerick.

All portraits will be available for purchase on the night, with proceeds supporting two remarkable local charities — Cliona’s Foundation and the Irish MPS Society — both of which make a real difference in the lives of families across Ireland.

Continuing the project’s tradition of giving back, Faces of Limerick: Chapter 2 builds on the legacy of the original collection, which can still be viewed today in University Hospital Limerick (UHL).

“Faces of Limerick began as a way to celebrate our community,” Cormac adds. “To see it evolve into something that not only showcases local spirit but also supports important causes is incredibly special.”

With 75 new portraits and countless stories to share, Faces of Limerick: Chapter 2 is both a tribute and a time capsule, capturing the essence of a city and county that continues to inspire.
